Fanart: Trinity

Urrrff. So I've managed to get food poisoning for the second time in as many months. Blargh. The nausea seems to have subsided for now, LOL, so I'm cheering myself up while I can by posting some old-ish fanart. ^-^

While I was lying around, I remembered that I did about a dozen pictures between March and June of this year for quirky_circe, in case she needed some fanart to make extra icons/banners for DC Fandom Appreciation Week. I never posted these pics to my journal, and since I haven't had time to do anything new lately (or to continue working on my old projects *coughs*), I figured I'd start putting them up.

(As a side note, the rest of the pics are in a different style from this so ... don't expect this for the rest of them. :P)

Characters: Clark, Bruce, Diana
Rating: G
Warnings: None.
Disclaimer: DC owns 'em, I just mess with 'em.
Media: watercolor

Edit: I can has icon! *grin* blackrosebard was awesome enough to gift me with an iconized version of this pic *points*

So anyone who wants, feel free to snag! (with credit and no hotlinking and all that good stuff, of course *grin*)

I find this pic very captivating! The lighting is very eye-drawing!
3rd-Sep-2007 11:12 pm (UTC)
Thank you! This is one of the first pics where I did the lighting without a reference, so I'm happy it works. :D
2nd-Sep-2007 11:34 pm (UTC)
Oh, my, I hope you feel better soon!

Pretty art! I really envy your talent...
3rd-Sep-2007 11:15 pm (UTC)
Oh, my, I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for the well-wishes, Barb! The worst of it has passed ... I can eat Jell-O and bananas now! Yay!

Thank you for the comment, too. :D I'm happy to hear you like the pic!

I love your use of color, Taro! Each so determined, but in their own special way.

Your people look real!

Each so determined, but in their own special way.

Oh, good! *grin* Looking at this again, their expressions seemed a little ... homogeneous to me, lol, so I'm glad some personality is still coming through. :D

Your people look real!

Thank you! ^-^ I like trying to draw/paint as realistically as possible a lot of the time although I do also wish I had more of a developed cartooning style as well :D

Anyway, thank you very much for the comment! *hugs*

And I always seem to be complimenting your icons (and with good reason, for they are awesome!), but just had to say the Kara/Babs one is stealing my heart. :D
3rd-Sep-2007 02:41 am (UTC)
*coughs politely* The icon is for you, if you wish...Your art was too pretty to NOT turn it into an icon...if you'd rather I not have it as an icon, I will take it off. This was just the easiest way to show it to you....
3rd-Sep-2007 11:27 pm (UTC)
Eeeeeeeeeeeee! *is bowled over* Thank you so much--I'm so flattered that you liked this enough to iconize it! *blushes a lot* And of course you can keep it! :D Do you mind if I put it up for grabs for everyone (with credit to you of course ^-^)?

Anyway, I shall upload it promptly! Thanks again--for the icon and for commenting! *skips away grinning like a loon*
3rd-Sep-2007 10:30 am (UTC)
This is gorgeous, sweetie! Love the semi-translucency to the lightning, and their poses. Very heroic :D
4th-Sep-2007 12:13 am (UTC)
Whee! Semi-translucency! *cartwheels* Sorry, I just love the word "translucent." :D And yes, I did like how the light turned out, well ... you put it best with "semi-translucent." :P

Glad you like the poses, too! That was partly quirky_circe's idea. I originally had Clark and Bruce in different poses, but she suggested that I position them the way they're drawn on the cover of the Superman/Batman Generations book, which I think worked really well! :D

Anyway, thanks for commenting, as always! So happy to hear you liked this. *hugs*

3rd-Sep-2007 12:05 pm (UTC)
That's beautiful. I admire anyone that can work with watercolors because I can't control the medium. Acrylic is my choice, lol, but you did wonderfully.
4th-Sep-2007 10:18 pm (UTC)
Thank you! *bg*

Acrylic is my choice

Eek, acrylic! *hides* Acrylic and I don't get along; I did one painting in it several years ago and never went back, LOL, but that's awesome that you can work in it. :D (And I would love to see an acrylic Clark/Bruce painting if you ever do one ^_____^).

Also, thanks so much for commenting! I really appreciate it. XD

oooooooooohh!!! I love it! Beautiful fanart!!!! <3
4th-Sep-2007 12:16 am (UTC)
Whee! Thanks so much for the comment, and for the kind words! *hugs*
3rd-Sep-2007 05:51 pm (UTC)
This is beautiful, C. I love the planes of Diana's face especially.
6th-Sep-2007 05:00 pm (UTC)
I love the planes of Diana's face especially.

Yay! I did like how that turned out. The shadowing on Clark's face got a little weird, lol, but Diana's cooperated pretty well. *grin*

Thanks, as always, for commenting, and for the kind words. :D
3rd-Sep-2007 07:17 pm (UTC)
Eeeeep! I hope you're feeling better! *huuuugs*

*stares at the pic*

WOW!!!! So very very pretty. It's movieverse!Superman! Clark's eyes! Diana's hair! *squees* I love how it goes into three sections! Brruuuuce!!! *incoherent noises*

You are such a good artist. :D
6th-Sep-2007 05:05 pm (UTC)
Thank you for the well wishes, Caroline, and for the hugs! *hugs back* I am feeling better now; the whole thing was pretty short lived--only lasted for the weekend really--but I was still being a baby about it anyway. :D

It's movieverse!Superman!

Ahhh, you can tell! Huzzah! I wasn't sure if anyone would realize that, since Clark doesn't look exactly like Routh here, although yes, I was intending it to be movie!Superman. Thank you for noticing! LOL

Happy you like Diana's hair, too ... and that Bruce reduced you to incoherence! \o/ I see I've done my job. *grin*

Anyway, thanks so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful comment. :D

Wonderful picture. Great arrangement and the lighting is just incredible.
6th-Sep-2007 05:41 pm (UTC)
Whee! Glad you like the arrangement--credit must go to quirky_circe for that, too, since she helped me with it. *grin* And I'm always happy to hear that the lighting works, since I am lighting-obsessed. :D

Thanks so much for commenting! I'm happy you like this!

4th-Sep-2007 03:21 am (UTC)
Man... this is great! I really like the water-colour look... It looks more epic, somehow, like the image has been around a long time and the colours have started to fade.

Oo, oo! *jumps up and down* YES! That's exactly what I was going for, for it to have that old photograph feel, as if it was a window back into history. I'm so happy that came across to you! *tumbles around*

Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by, and for taking the time to comment. You rock! XD
4th-Sep-2007 01:39 pm (UTC)
that's beautiful! i especially love your wonder woman, her self-possession and poise.
6th-Sep-2007 05:48 pm (UTC)
i especially love your wonder woman, her self-possession and poise.

Yay! I have Catherine Zeta-Jones to thank for that, LOL. I used her as a model for Diana and ... hmm, I forget where the reference pic is that I used, but yeah, the poise is all hers. :D

Anyway, thank you so much for commenting! I'm really happy that you like this--that means so much coming from you, since I really admire your work. :D
5th-Sep-2007 05:07 am (UTC)
Beautiful piece! I like the fact Wondy is placed in the middle instead of Superman, for instance. In superhero group shots he's often pictured in the middle as their leader... For once it's lovely to see Wonder Woman in the front with the guys standing behind her!

6th-Sep-2007 08:32 pm (UTC)
For once it's lovely to see Wonder Woman in the front with the guys standing behind her!

I did this so long ago, I can't remember what the reasoning behind that was anymore. I might have been trying to shake things up by putting her in front, since you're right--it usually is Supes in that position! Or I might have just been trying to make it more symmetrical, since the guys are more, uh, similarly shaped, lol. ^-^ In any case, I'm glad it works for you! :D

And thanks for commenting! I really appreciate it. *grin*

Superman looks a lot like Brandon Routh, so hopefully it was intentional. Because if it was accidental then it's just eerie. lol

Nope, it was intentional! Although I didn't think it was that obvious, so I'm surprised--and happy!--that you noticed. :D Yay!

And as always, thanks so much for commenting. *hugs* And thanks for the well-wishes, too. All better now! Although wallowing in LJ certainly helped during the interim *grin*

Eeeeee! *glomps sis* I'm sorry I'm so behind, Christine! I am! And on fic and art, to boot! but this is truly beautiful, I'm so glad I didn't miss it entirely!

I'm so in love with your Diana! her hair and the eagle and the light! man, the lighting on the uniform is so cool! you really kick ass on the shadow department. Clark's curl and Batman's scowl!! eeee! I love how they are all back to back! The icons is great, too. Thank you so much for sharing this, sis! I am in love with your Diana :)

I'm in love with your light X)
